The Bauer Hour Podcast Presents – 24: Liberation

As we mentioned on our last show, the 24 show runners don’t have to worry about writing a script for next season (Day 10). We took the liberty of helping them out. We’re calling it 24: Liberation.

Set two years after the events of 24: Live Another Day, Olga Kurylenko plays Veronika Andropov, former Russian KGB spy who refused to help the Russian government senselessly murder Ukrainian civilians in the Ukrainian Civil War. Veronika is then thrown into a gulag. While repeatedly being tortured, Veronika discovers that her husband and two-year old son have been captured and murdered by her former KGB comrades.

After hearing the news, she is thrown back into her cell. Under the weight of it all, she breaks down. While sobbing uncontrollably on the cockroach infested cell floor, she hears a grizzled American call to her. Over the course of the next few weeks, she begins to confide in this American stranger’s voice,  as it becomes the only thing that keeps her from taking her own life. His name is Jack Bauer. She discovers that he has also been a prisoner for the past two years and has also been repeatedly tortured at the will of the sadistic Russian guards.

Meanwhile in the United States….

Former CIA Agent Kate Morgan works tirelessly in a dimly lit apartment. Her eyes are tired because she hasn’t slept in days. Her entire wall is covered in photographs and newspaper clippings. After fully realizing the sacrifice Jack Bauer made for his friend Chloe O’Brian and the United States, Kate hasn’t been able to live with the guilt of moving on with her life. She has made it her mission to find and rescue Bauer.

The phone rings. She answers and confirms that everything is ready finally ready. The months of planning are finally over. It is now time for action. CIA Chief of Station Erik Ritter has called in his biggest favor.

“Everything is a go,” he says, “He’s being processed and should be headed your way with O’Brian within the hour.”

“Good. Did you confirm the air transport to Russia?” she asks.

“Are you sure this is going to work?” Erik says, questioning Kate. Erik has always been better at asking questions than he is with providing answers.

“Just trust me. We’ll have him. He’s been in situations like this before,” she fires back.

[scene cuts to a prisoner being transported with a black cloth bag on his head, hands restrained behind his back, dressed in a tactical black SWAT gear]

“Are you sure you’re up to this?” an unnamed agent asks the prisoner.

“Yeah,” he curtly replies in a familiar tone.

Agent Kate Morgan arrives in a black SUV escorted by a TAC team. Getting out of the car, she marches toward the prisoner and pulls the black cloth bag off of his head.

She stares nervously into his eyes and says, “Thanks for agreeing to this. I know that you’re the only one that can help me get him back….Tony.
